November 13, 2007 Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M. Present,-President Hart, Councillors Hall, Swartz, Daly O’Brien, Scatamacchia, Macek, Ryan and Curtin. Absent,-Councillor Hetel Records of the last meeting were approved. Councillor Macek was appointed to read the records for the present week. _______________________ Notice was received from the Mayor of the appointment
of Alan DeNaro as Emergency Management Director. Said appointment
effective November 8, 2007. PETITIONS Application was received for a 2007 Drainlayer license
from Carl Campbell. Application was received for a Hawker/Peddler license
from Paul Abare to sell Christmas trees, wreaths, baskets& decorations at 403 River st; Sunday-Saturday, November 21
thru December 24th. Application was received for a special license to sell
alcoholic beverages from Alexis Alvarado at the Haverhill
Citizen Center, Friday, December 14, 2007 from 7:30 PM to 12 midnight. Applications were received for the following licenses:
GRANTED Yeas 8, Absent 1 Notice of Hearing was requested from the Board of Assessors
for Tax Classification for FY 2008 on November 20 2007. Abatement report was received from the Board of Assessors
for the month of October 2007. COMMUNICATIONS Communication was received from Councillor Ryan
requesting a discussion regarding no parking at 24 Essex st. Communication was received from Councillor Macek
requesting to introduce Fran Bevilacqua to discuss drainage
problems on Edgehill rd. On motion of Councillor Macek to postpone to December 4th,
the yeas and nays were as follows: HEARING Hearing was held on Document 95, a petition for an
Inflammable license from Lowe’s Home Center to store no more than
30,000 gallons of combustible liquids, aerosols and various
chemical retail products aboveground at 25 Computer dr. With
John Scialoia appearing in favor and no one in opposition
the hearing was closed. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Document 93-L A communication from Councillor Macek requesting to discuss the need for remedial cleaning of housing across from the Homestead Construction site on Old Groveland rd & the need for the City to establish policies for future construction permits.
