December 11, 2007 Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M. Present,-President Hart, Councillors Hall, Hetel, Swartz, Daly O’Brien, Scatamacchia, Macek, Ryan and Curtin. Records of the last meeting were approved. Councillor Hall was appointed to read the records for the present week. _______________________ Notice was received from the Mayor of the appointment of
Mary Ellen McEvoy-Lawlor to the Community Action Inc Board.
Said appointment effective December 5th to expire December 21 2008. Notice was received from the Mayor of the appointment of
Irene Wimberley Burton to the Haverhill Cultural Council. Said
appointment effective December 7th to expire December 31 2008. PETITIONS Applications were received for the following licenses:
GRANTED Yeas 9, Nays 0 Application for 2008 Drainlayer license was received from
James Cheney. COMMUNICATION Communication was received from Councillor Hall
requesting a discussion regarding a request for a stop sign on
Doane st at the intersection of South Pine st. On motion of Councillor Swartz to suspend the rules
to introduce the Trustees of the Whittier Homestead
to invite the public to the celebration of John
Greenleaf Whittier’s Birthday on December 17th, the
yeas and nays were as follows: HEARING Hearing was held on Document 97 an application for a
Special Permit from Attorney James Waldron representing
Trident Management Corp, to build a 4-unit multifamily dwelling
at 51 Webster st; Assessor’s Map 203, Block 34, Lot 1A
to be used as apartments. Hearing was held on Document 99 a petition for a hearing
re: Zoning – Rezoning of Armory property on Kenoza av from the
City of Haverhill to place the entire property in the CC Zone. Document 99-B MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE CHAPTER
