April 15, 2008 Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M. Present,-President Hart, Councillors Scatamacchia, Ryan, Daly O’Brien, Hall, Donahue and Quimby. Records of the last meeting were approved. Absent,-Councillors Macek and McGonagle Councillor Daly O’Brien was appointed to read the records
for the present week. Notice was received from Mayor Fiorentini of the appointment
by Mayor Fiorentini of Patrick J Driscoll as TRUSTEE TO ADMINISTER
PERMANENT CHARITABLEFUND under Trust/Will of the late Harry M Notice was received from Mayor Fiorentini of the appointment
of Randolph J. Sablich to the Downtown Master Plan Committee. Said
appointment effective April 15 2008 to expire April 14 2010. Notice was received from Mayor Fiorentini of the appointment
of Joseph Sullivan to the HAVERHILL HOUSING AUTHORITY. Said
appointment effective April 14 2008 to expire April 14 2010. Notice was received from Mary T Watson submitting her
resignation from the Haverhill Housing Authority Board Application for special license to Sell Alcoholic
beverages was received from Annie Marin-Lopez at the Citizens Application for Tag Days was received from the Lions Club
of Haverhill, for July 12th. COMMUNICATIONS Communication was received from Councillor Ryan
requesting a discussion regarding the waiving of water connection
fees by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 29 on Kenoza av
in Haverhill. Communication was received from Councillor Ryan requesting
a discussion regarding a proposal to locate the Greater Lawrence
Family Health Center in the Landmark Building on Merrimack st. Communication was received from Councillor Hall requesting
to recognize Mary Watson for more than 60 years of service to the
City of Haverhill and the Haverhill Housing Authority. Communication was received from Councillor Donahue
requesting a discussion regarding barrels being left in Communication was received from Councillor Hall requesting
a discussion regarding the City’s towing policy. Communication was received from Councillor Daly O’Brien
requesting a discussion regarding the Elks Club operating
a “Rock Café”. HEARINGS Hearing was held on Document 35, a petition from Stephen
Defeo requesting a hearing to accept Parker Lane as a public way. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Document 51 MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE CHAPTER
An Ordinance re: Building Maintenance of Document 53, an application to hold a benefit Block Party, from Peter McLaughlin, at 4 Apple st, August 2nd for the“McLaughlin Fund.” On motion of Councillor Hall to grant with time limit of
12:00 Noon to 10:00 PM, the yeas and nays were as follows: NEW BUSINESS Councillor Scatamacchia introduced Document 31-F To Wit: ORDERED: That the City Council authorize the Purchasing Department
to proceed with the final disposition of obsolete surplus
equipment from the Fire Dept and the Wastewater Dept.
