April 7, 2009 Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M. Present,-President Hart, Councillors Scatamacchia, Macek,Hall, Donahue and Quimby. Councillor Donahue was appointed to read the records for the present week.
PETITIONS Applications were received for Tag Days the following:
Abatement report was received from the Board of Assessors for the month of March 2009. PLACED ON FILE 12-D Communication was received from Councillor Hall requesting to
introduce Lynn Murphy to request Saturday April 25th be recognized as Rebuilding Together Greater Haverhill Inc Day and also requests that all fees but not inspections be waived. Communication was received from Councillor Macek requesting to discuss donation of a parcel of land by Arthur Bonin as recommended by
the Natural Resources and Public Property Committee and related communication from Mr. Bonin. On Motion of Councillor Macek that all taxes be paid as of the date of the transfer; further, that all costs, preparation, recording, legal work be performed by the donor and approved by the City Solicitor prior to acceptance of donation. MOTION PASSED and APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS and LETTER TO MAYOR and CITY SOLICITOR Yeas 6, Nays 0, Absent 3 31 Communication was received from Councillor Scatamacchia requesting
a discussion regarding planning for reduced parking caused by construction projects. On motion of Councillor Hall to refer to the Parking Commission with a recommendation to change parking on Washington Avenue to 10 hours and change parking on West Street to 10 hours on a temporary basis. The yeas and nays were as follows: Document 25, Application was received from Michael Maroney/Maroney Construction Co requesting a Special Permit for a cluster residential development at 890 North Broadway – Assessor’s Map 575, Block 2, Lot 8
to build 50 single family homes on 13 acres. A related communication was received from Attorney John Cleary for applicant requesting to Continue Hearing to April 21 2009.
