July 14, 2009 Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M. Present,-President Hart, Councillors Scatamacchia, Ryan, Macek, Daly O’Brien, Hall, McGonagle, Donahue and Quimby. Records of the last meeting were approved. Councillor Macek was appointed to read the records for the present week. PETITIONS Application was received for Tag Days from HHS Girls Swim Team for August 28, 29 & 30. GRANTED Yeas 9, Nays 0 44-H Petition was received for joint pole location from Verizon New England & MA Electric Co on East Broadway (plan 698) Petition was received from Peter McLaughlin to hold a Block Party on July 25th at 4 Apple st. GRANTED with STIPULATION THAT POLICE APPROVE TIMEFRAME Yeas 9, Nays 0 74-B Petition was received from Farmers’ Market Steering Committee to use Bailey Boulevard and the adjacent sidewalk for Haverhill Farmers' Market every Saturday from July 18th thru October 31st from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. GRANTED Yeas 9, Nays 0 82 Communication was received from Councillor Macek requesting to discuss a request from a condo association to place a sign on a City island. GRANTED with STIPULATION that they contact Vin Ouellette about Adopt- A-Park and REFERRED TO NATURAL RESOURCES & PUBLIC PROPERTY COM Yeas 9, Nays 0 79-B Communication was received from Councillor Hall requesting to discuss the fireworks display.
