June 1, 2010 Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M. Present,-President Hart, Councillors Scatamacchia, Ryan,Young, Hall, LePage, Daly O’Brien, Amirian and Macek. Records of the last meeting were approved. Councillor Amirian was appointed to read the records for the present week. ___________________________ COMMUNICATIONS Communication was received from Council President Hart requesting a discussion regarding amending summer schedule to conduct a City Council meeting on June 22nd. PLACED ON FILE and REFERRED TO TRAFFIC & SAFETY COMIITTEE Yeas 9, Nays 0 53-M Communication from Councillor Hall requesting a discussion regarding removal of following handicap spaces that are no longer needed: 2 Forrest av, 84 Blossom st,39 Freeman st On motion of Councillor Macek to suspend the rules for the
Mayor to discuss, on behalf of the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority, a ground lease for the proposed parking facility. ORDERED: That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a "Ground Lease" on behalf of the City of Haverhill with the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority (MVRTA) for the purpose of leasing a vacant lot on Granite Street known as the "Ted for Tires" lot, a vacant site on Moulton Way, and, a vacant parcel on Granite Street known as the "POUA Parcel" (all as described in said Agreement) for the development and construction of an intermodal parking facility, a copy of the Ground Lease being attached hereto and incorporated herein. (see document for complete text) On motion of President Hart to amend to incorporate the changes from City Solicitor Cox and also allow the necessary changes per the City Solicitor that do not require City Council approval. Councillor Daly O’Brien presented the Minutes of the Administration and Finance Committeeheld on May 24, 2010. Councillor Hall presented the Minutes of the Public Safety Committee meeting held on May 26, 2010. |
