Petition was received from Katherine G Martin of Haverhill Farmers’ Market Steering Committee requesting to hang banner across South Main st City Clerk Toomey introduced Document 69 To Wit: Orders of Taking - Route 125/South Main st & Salem st a. Order - Waived Damages (see document for complete text) On motion of Councillor Macek that the order be amended with two changes from Solicitor Cox and delete the word "non-substantive" and insert "necessary". c. Order of Damages (see document for complete text) On motion of Councillor Macek to amend the order by deleting Schedule A in its entirety and the amended Schedule A with the specific amounts be
inserted thereof. d. Order related to Use of Certain City owned property on Route
125/So Main st & Salem sts. Related communication from Michael Stankovich Related appropriation: ORDERED: That the sum of $60,000 be and is hereby appropriated from authorized Chapter 90 funds for purpose of paying any damages required by law for Order of Taking dated June 22 2010 for Right of Way Acquisition-South Main st Route 125/Salem st Reconstruction Project. And further, said funds will be expended from approved Mass Dept of Transportation Chapter 90 authorization as amended. On motion of Councillor Macek to amend the order to clarify the amount of $60,000. City Clerk Toomey introduced Document 71 To Wit: ORDERED: That the Mayor, being and hereby authorized to execute license agreement to Verizon New England Inc & Mass Electric co to work within the public way and to erect, operate and maintain a new pole on Old Ferry rd prior to public hearing. (see document for complete text) City Clerk Toomey introduced Document 72 To Wit: ORDERED: That document #86 of June 10, 2008, (An Order Relating to Water and Wastewater Rates) be and is hereby deleted in its entirety and the following inserted in place thereof: Rates for Water and Wastewater - Effective July 1, 2010. The City Council of the City of Haverhill hereby establishes the wastewater user rate shall be $3.92 per hundred cubic feet and the water user rate shall be $2.68 per hundred cubic feet. Those persons that qualify pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 59, Section 5, Clause forty-first C, as adopted by the City from time to time, shall receive a fifteen (15) percent discount on the above rates.
