I Want To
East Broadway Bridge
East Broadway will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, February 20, for replacement of the East Broadway Bridge over Millvale Brook The City owned bridge is located just south of the East Broadway intersection with Millvale Road, and is identified by MassDOT as bridge H-12-13.
For traffic travelling south on East Broadway, traffic will be detoured to Millvale Road, then onto Middle Road and Kenoza Street, and then back to East Broadway. The opposite route would be applicable to traffic wishing to reach East Broadway north of the bridge. Attached is the plan sheet showing the detour.
The replacement bridge was designed by the City’s Project Consultant BETA Group, of Norwood, MA. Construction of the project was awarded to Northern Construction of Weymouth, MA., for $647,225.
The project includes the removal of the existing bridge made of stone abutments and wingwalls and concrete deck, which was constructed in 1932. The new bridge is to be a three-sided precast concrete structure with precast concrete wingwalls.
