Mayor Fiorentini Names Linda Germain February Artist of the Month
Artist’s Photographs on Display at Mayor’s Office

Mayor James J. Fiorentini announced today that local artist Linda Germain is Haverhill’s February Artist of the Month for February. Fiorentini will meet with Germain, a Haverhill resident whose art studio is located at 93 Essex Street, on February 15 at 3:30 pm in his office, where he will present her with a official citation. Fiorentini said:

“We are honored to have Ms. Germain’s artwork hanging at the Mayor’s Office. I encourage the public to stop by and enjoy her photographs.”

According to Germain, her images “are of everyday things. The stuff you would never even notice. But I aim to capture the every day in a new and interesting light.”

Germain, who is also a farmer and teacher, also works in collage, prints and painting. She is a former lawyer, whitewater rafting guide and rock climbing instructor. Samples of Germain’s artwork can be viewed at her website: www.linda-germain.com .

The Haverhill Artist of Month was created by Mayor Fiorentini to foster Haverhill’s thriving art community. Haverhill artists interested in being considered for Artist of the Month can submit copies of their work and artist’s statement to the Mayor’s Office.
