Mayor James J. Fiorentini > Press Release August 31, 2007 City Boat Ramp Repaired and Open for Labor Day Enjoyment HAVERHILL - Mayor James J. Fiorentini announced the repair and reopening of the City’s public boat ramp adjacent to the Crescent Yacht Club in Bradford. The Mayor was joined at the groundbreaking ceremony by State Representatives Brian S. Dempsey [D-Haverhill] and Barbara L’Italien [D-Andover], who represents Bradford. The ramp was built by the City using City labor and engineering. The Commonwealth, through the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game’s Office of Fishing and Boating Access, provided all of the materials and engineering oversight. The work was completed in time for the Labor Day holiday and this year’s boating season.
In addition to the ramp, the state is providing improved signage directing the public to the boat ramp. The ramp repair and signage improvements were done for relatively negligible costs to the City. |
