Mayor Fiorentini Names Malcolm Anderson as June Artist of the Month
Haverhill Photographer’s Work on Display at Mayor’s Office

Mayor James J. Fiorentini today named local photographer Malcolm Anderson as June Artist of the Month.
Mr. Anderson is displaying 4 of his works in the Mayor’s Office this month as part of the successful and ongoing “Mayor’s Artist of Month” series.  He has been a photographer for over 55 years and a Haverhill resident for the last 23 years.  His interest is in traditional darkroom photography for his black and white photographs though he does make use of some digital techniques for his color work. 

Mr. Anderson is currently the secretary for the Merrimack Valley Camera Club as well as being a member of the Boston Camera Club and the Greater Lynn Photographic Association.  He stated that photography has always been a large part of his life.  He has travelled worldwide and in conjunction with his interest in table tennis, has created an important photographic collection of this international sport.

Mayor Fiorentini stated:

“Having a life long interest in traditional photography, I can appreciate the quality of Mr. Anderson’s work.  Haverhill is fortunate to have talented artists, such as Mr. Anderson, and I look forward to each month’s new offering of art in my office.  I invite all Haverhill citizens to stop and see Mr. Anderson’s photographs this month.”

The Haverhill Artist of Month was created by Mayor Fiorentini to foster and profile Haverhill’s thriving art community. Haverhill artists interested in being considered for Artist of the Month can submit copies of their work and artist’s statement to the Mayor’s Office.
