FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Mayor Announces Voter Registration Sessions at Haverhill High School

HAVERHILL- Mayor James J. Fiorentini announced that the Haverhill Board of Registrars will hold special voter registration sessions on May 7th and 8th from 10:45AM until 12:15 PM.  These voter registration sessions will be held in the Student Mall area at Haverhill High School.  Registrants will be able to vote in the upcoming historic 2008 elections, in which a new President will be chosen.

“I’m pleased to announce this special registration session at the High School,” said Mayor Fiorentini.  “Hopefully, this will make it easier for 18-year olds to participate in a cherished and hard-earned American privilege: the right to vote.  2008 promises to be an historic election Haverhill High students won’t want to miss,” added the Mayor.

Residents need only to be 18 years of age or older at the time of the election.  They do not need to be 18 when they register.

In addition, all qualified residents can register to vote at the City Clerk’s Office at Haverhill City Hall, 4 Summer Street, Haverhill MA  01830.  For more information about voting or voter registration, call 978-374-2312.
