Mayor Fiorentini Volunteers at Haverhill Public Library

HAVERHILL- Mayor James J. Fiorentini volunteered at the Haverhill Public Library on Monday, September 15, 2008. The mayor worked for one hour at the head circulation desk checking books out for customers and discussing the library’s services and resources with fellow citizens.

The mayor’s visit to the library is part of his effort to volunteer time at several city departments in order to more closely observe each department’s activities and develop ideas for improvement.

“Every customer I spoke with had tremendous things to say about the library and its staff,” observed Mayor Fiorentini. “Customers raved about the library’s expansive resources, excellent staff, wide book selection, and especially its online services. One gentleman remarked he began using the library again because of the convenience of the online check-out and pick-up service,” stated the Mayor.

The Mayor worked with the attentive and welcoming staff of the library and experienced their busy daily activities both behind the scenes, and at the circulation desk. The mayor enjoyed his time at the public library, noting:

“The feedback I received was largely a testament to the Library’s fine group of professional and volunteer staff.”
