NEW DESIGN CONTRACT MEANS THAT ROUTE 125 AND SALEM STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS WILL GO FORWARD NEXT YEAR.

Mayor James J. Fiorentini today announced that the City of Haverhill, the State of Massachusetts, and the design firm of VHB, have entered into a new contract to complete the Route 125 Connector project.  Under the contract, the design firm of VHB will complete the design of the roadway and construction is expected to start in the Summer of 2009.

Fiorentini called it a “major step forward for the City of Haverhill.”:

“This multimillion dollar investment in our city will improve the major gateway to our city on Route 125 and Salem Street.

“We look forward to working with the State and with the design firm to have this work completed.”
