PRESS ADVISORY

Mayor James J. Fiorentini will join State Representative Brian S. Dempsey [D-Haverhill-- Chairman of the Legislature's Energy Committee], members of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's Renewable Energy Trust, City Veterans Affairs Office Michael Ingham and others for a ribbon cutting for the City's new solar-powered light display in G.A.R. Park.  This event is being held on this Friday, January 2, 2009 at 1PM by the cannon in G.A.R. (Granddaughters of the American Revolution) Park near Bailey Boulevard and Main Street.

The new 100% solar-powered lighting system provides power for illuminating Old Glory by the Hannah Duston Statue along Main Street, and was provided entirely by a demonstration grant by the Renewable Energy Trust and I.B.E.W. Local #103.
