August 27, 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

AFTER MEETING WITH RESIDENTS, MAYOR ORDERS UNION PARK CURFEW OF 8PM STRICTLY ENFORCED

On Saturday, Mayor James J. Fiorentini met with residents of the Union Park area.

Numerous residents expressed concerns about children playing basketball up until 2 or 3AM in the morning and neighbors being unable to sleep.

The Mayor noted that existing laws closed parks and playgrounds at 8PM.  The Mayor ordered new signs put up in the park closing the park at 8PM and has ordered police officers to patrol the park at 8PM to make certain the rules are enforced.   The police are now patrolling the park every evening.
