MAYOR KICKS OFF NATIONAL WALK AT LUNCH DAY WITH CITY EMPLOYEES

Today, Mayor James J. Fiorentini put on his walking shoes and joined with Haverhill City Fire Fighters and City Hall Employees to “take a walk at lunch”, part of Haverhill’s wellness efforts for all city employees.  A nurse was also available to take employees blood pressures and provide pedometers to all those committing to a walking plan every day.

Mayor Fiorentini stated:

“The health of our city employees is one of my priorities so I join with them to take a walk at lunch.   I commend the Fire Fighters for taking the lead in the effort and I look forward to my own improved health as a result of this program.

“This is part of a national effort sponsored by the City’s health care provider, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, to get people more active and healthier through this small lifestyle change.  I congratulate all those who join with me today.”
