Mayor James J. Fiorentini > Press Release Please be advised that Mayor James J. Fiorentini will be accepting an Platinum award from the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council on behalf of the City tomorrow, April 30, 2009 at 9:00AM. This event will be held at the Mass Biotech Council's offices at 1 Cambridge Center, 9th Floor in Cambridge, MA. “I’m thrilled that the Mass BioTech Council-- one of the leading economic development groups in the State-- has recognized Haverhill with a Platinum rating,” noted the Mayor. “This distinction will go a long way in our effort to recruit new high-paying and cutting-edge jobs to the City. As biotech firms grow out of Cambridge and the 128 belt, Haverhill’s doors are open to this emerging field,” announced the Mayor. “Not only did we work hard for this rating, but several key indicators were cited that we are very proud of, including our workforce, educational system, new high school science labs and instruction, overall business climate, city government efficiency, expedited permitting, low tax rate and overall quality of life,” noted the Mayor. “Biotech firms want to be in attractive locales where they are welcomed, supported and where their employees want to live, shop and eat. We have all that here in Haverhill.” Please send reporter and photographer. |
