Mayor James J. Fiorentini Commemorates
Polish Constitution Day

On Friday, May 1st, Mayor James J. Fiorentini commemorated Polish Constitution Day with a flag raising ceremony and an official proclamation of May 3rd as Polish Constitution Day.  Mayor Fiorentini stated:

“Once again, I am joined by members of Haverhill’s Polish American Community in celebration of this important day commemorating the establishment in 1791 of the Polish Constitution, the first liberal constitution in Europe and the second in the world, only after the Constitution of the United States.  This day marks a declaration of freedom and democracy and we join with our Polish citizens in this celebration. ”

On Friday, May 1st, the Mayor was joined in his office by several of Haverhill’s Polish citizens, where the Mayor read and presented the proclamation to those who attended.
