Mayor Fiorentini Names Bonnie Marsan as April Artist of the Month

Mayor James J. Fiorentini today named Bonnie Marsan as Haverhill’s April 2009 Artist of the Month.
Bonnie began her photographic journey as a teenager when a friend gave her an old Olympus 35 mm camera and instructed her how to operate it. She was immediately hooked and has been passionately shooting ever since. Her favorite subjects are those outdoors in natural light, from landscapes and seascapes to close-up flower ‘portraits’. She loves heading out at sunrise to hunt for great shots in the most beautiful light of the day.

Ms. Marsan studied photography over the years at Salem State College, Northern Essex Community College, New England School of Photography and the Newburyport Art Association. She has been an active member with Greater Lynn Camera Club, Merrimack Valley Camera Club and the Newburyport Art Association
for many years and has won numerous awards for her photos.

In addition to photography, Bonnie enjoys skiing, kayaking, hiking, and biking. She works with a landscape architecture firm handling all of their marketing and advertising. She resides in Bradford, Massachusetts.

The Haverhill Artist of Month was created by Mayor Fiorentini to foster and profile Haverhill’s thriving art community. Haverhill artists interested in being considered for Artist of the Month can submit copies of their work and artist’s statement to the Mayor’s Office.
