Mayor Fiorentini Names Matthew Mooradian as February Artist of the Month
Haverhill High School Student’s Work on Display at Mayor’s Office

Mayor James J. Fiorentini today named Matthew Mooradian as February Artist of the Month. Matthew is a junior at Haverhill High School and has been studying art for over 7 years.  Currently he is a student of Susan Kneeland and is planning on participating in upcoming shows at the Buttonwoods Museum and in Newburyport’s “Budding Artist” show, both of which will take place this spring.  Matthew works in a variety of mediums, though his preference is oils and landscapes are his favorite subject.

Mayor Fiorentini stated:

“Once again, I am pleased to showcase the fine creative talent of a high school student.  The Artist of the Month program is for all artists in Haverhill and I am pleased to have Matthew Mooradian displaying his paintings and drawings this month in the Mayor’s office.  This is a great opportunity for me to encourage our student artists and provide a place to show their work.”

The Haverhill Artist of Month was created by Mayor Fiorentini to foster and profile Haverhill’s thriving art community. Haverhill artists interested in being considered for Artist of the Month can submit copies of their work and artist’s statement to the Mayor’s Office.
