Mayor James J. Fiorentini > Press Release

September 18, 2009
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Growing Manufacturer, Jobs Moving to Haverhill

HAVERHILL- Lauding the addition of new manufacturing jobs, Mayor James J. Fiorentini today announced that Lightspeed Manufacturing is relocating to Haverhill. Lightspeed Manufacturing is a high-quality contract manufacturer specializing in electronics. Lightspeed manufactures and repairs printed circuit board assemblies, serving the aerospace, military/defense, automotive, commercial and telecommunication markets.

Lightspeed will bring 14 new jobs to Haverhill with expansion plans to double its workforce over the next 18 months. The company is expected to start moving to its new facility in the ‘Dynawave Building’ in the Ward Hill Industrial Park in early October and complete the move by November 1. Previously, the company has been in Methuen.

“I’m thrilled that Lightspeed Manufacturing has chosen Haverhill for its headquarters and as the place where it will expand,” stated Mayor James J. Fiorentini. “Lightspeed does great work and serves some of the nation’s largest and most successful companies, which will in turn expose these Fortune 500 clients to Haverhill as well,” noted the Mayor.

Lightspeed was founded in 2003 by members of the former NETCO Automation in Haverhill, a company that was known for its expertise in BGA services and prototype development.

“We are very excited to relocate to Haverhill,” stated Michelle Dube, Director of Administration for Lightspeed. “This move will allow us to continue with our unprecedented growth and expansion. This expansion is necessary to support to surge in business Lightspeed has seen over the past year.”

Company President Rich Breault stated:

“We are making significant investments in the latest technology and equipment. Our new home in Haverhill will be one of the most ‘state of the art’ facilities of its kind in the area.

Breault added:

“I want to thank Mayor Fiorentini and his staff for all they did personally to make this move a reality, especially when our negotiations with another private party hit some hurdles.”

“We have a great workforce of skilled electronics assemblers in this City, and we worked hard to lure this employer to the City,” explained the Mayor. “We look forward to being home to their growth.”
